Overview

A concept for a horror survival game where players build and create villages while battling pollution and environmental threats. You can cultivate crops, care for animals, and develop eco-friendly tech to expand your village. Players can also explore nearby biomes, battling rogue environments and saving wildlife.

Purpose

The game explores the consequences of environmental pollution in a world pushed to the brink.

As players fight to survive, they must choose between cooperation and conflict, shaping both the environment and the enemies they face.

Game Mechanics

Eco-Warriors would have the overarching goal of rebuilding humanity, but how does a player accomplish this?

Design, Research, and Inspiration

Behind the mechanics is a deeper world and research-driven foundation.

Concept Art

I illustrated concept art to translate the game’s themes and mechanics into visual form, defining the look, feel, and tone of the world.

Starter Base

Survival begins small. A fire and a water source form the foundation of the starter base, marking the player’s first claim in a hostile, polluted world. As resources are scavenged from the environment, the camp evolves into the beginnings of a village shaped by scarcity and adaptation.

Enemies

As players explore the world, they face enemies born from environmental collapse. Impure Humans have been biologically altered by toxic exposure, compelled to spread pollution wherever they go. In contrast, The Righteous are a human faction convinced that eliminating the remaining population is the only way to restore the planet.

Animals

Players encounter wildlife that has adapted to survive in the polluted environment. Some animals become contaminated, turning aggressive and unpredictable, while others may appear friendly or even helpful. This uncertainty introduces risk, as animals can provide companionship or vital nutrition, but may turn hostile without warning.

Achievements

As a Game UX Designer, I led the end to end creation of this game concept, from research and player personas to fully realized mechanics and high fidelity UI. I transformed user insights into a cohesive, replayable, and socially driven experience that balances challenge with accessibility.

This project showcases my ability to think strategically, design intentionally, and craft games I am genuinely proud to stand behind.
